VIOLIN AND FLUTE

Gloria Mui Man Sze was born in Hong Kong and currently resides in Calgary, Canada.

She graduated with a Master of Music (MMus) at the University of Calgary in 2025, with a concentration in composition. She studied composition under the guidance of Prof. Laurie Radford and Prof. Allan Gordon Bell. Mui graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music (Honours) at Hong Kong Baptist University in 2022, majoring in violin and music composition, under the guidance of Prof Christopher J. Keyes, Dr. Camilo Mendez, Dr. Eugene Birman, Dr. Matthew W. Schreibeis, and Dr. Maria KALLIONPÄÄ.

Mui studied violin at an early age, followed by Mr. Fan Ting (Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra). She played violin with the University of Calgary Orchestra.

As a composer, she enjoys the compositional process because it allows her to express her inner world through music creation, particularly in acoustic forms for various ensembles and solo instruments.

In 2021, her work Zvukova Bitka was selected by the LIGETI QUARTET for the program The Workout! scheme for 100 pieces by 100 composers. In 2022, Twiddle QuaD got the 2nd prize in The Inaugural NC Wong Young Composers Award. These experiences have enriched her compositional language and inspired her to produce new works and seek new collaboration opportunities.

She has been tutoring violin and music theory since 2007 in both Hong Kong and Canada, and is excited to share her experiences with her students.

Oluwatosin Adigun

“I discovered my passion for music at the age of 14 when I first recognized my natural musical abilities. This marked the beginning of my formal training, which laid a strong foundation for my growth as a musician and educator. My training in music theory and piano practicals began in the church, where I developed essential skills in performance and musicianship. Over the years, I obtained a Grade 3 certification in both music theory and piano, further solidifying my technical knowledge and proficiency.

With approximately 10 years of experience in teaching music, I have worked with students of various ages and skill levels, helping them cultivate a deep understanding and appreciation for music.

My teaching expertise spans multiple instruments, including Piano, Drums, Recorder, and Clarinet. Beyond individual instruction, I have also been actively involved in church music, where I have led choirs, coordinated performances, and nurtured the musical growth of ensembles.

My teaching philosophy emphasizes both technical mastery and expressive musicianship. I strive to inspire my students by fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment, ensuring they develop confidence and creativity in their musical journeys. Whether working with beginners or advanced students, my goal is to make music education accessible, enjoyable, and enriching for all.”
