Canada 150

As Canadians celebrate the creation of their great country one hundred and fifty years ago, it is important to also look towards the future of Canada. This documentary was developed to celebrate the amazing youth who have overcome many obstacles, as they sought to develop their various talents. Based on their diverse stories, one has to admit that Canada’s future looks pretty bright. In fact, it looks fantastic!

  • Lita Crawler- Morley, Alberta
    An Indigenous teen who through fearless determination refuses to allow financial challenges to stop her from participating in volleyball, hockey or her beloved rodeo.

    One of Canada’s youngest writers, as well as being an actor and producer.

  • Cosette Swart-Calgary, Alberta
    A 6 year old painter and young philanthropist who raised over $16, 000 for various charities

  • Stephen McPhee-Calgary, Alberta
    At 5 years old Stephen dreamed of ending childhood poverty.  Despite Autism,  at 15 years old he has helped over 43,000 children through his Backpack Foundation.

  • Carrie Jacyszyn- Calgary, Alberta
    A young Canadian writer who published her first book, Little Mountain at age 10.  She gives $1.00 per book sold to the Watoto Ministries.  In her public speaking engagements she recounts how she found personal joy through personal difficulties and encourages others to do the same

Conclusion

What will Canada look like in another 150 years?  It’s hard to predict. But our next generation is eager and hungry and they have a burning desire to create amazing, wonderful and unexpected things. Support the young people in your neighbourhood. Listen to them.  Believe in them. And when future generations are ready to cross the threshold into the next century, all one can say is, “Get Ready World! Here they come!”​
